  • Deer Industry New Zealand is responsible for promoting and assisting the development of the New Zealand deer industry.

  • VelTrak; a fully electronic, web-based system that enables velvet to be tracked and traced from farm to market.

  • Unique project applied high resolution printing and inlays encrypted with human readable information from a supplied data file to manufacture a UHF identification tag. 

  • The tags supplied as singles required a 100% guaranteed supply and sequential order maintained at all times.

  • Tags loose and sequential with respect to GTINs: as follows:

  • Sequentially numbered packs of 50 wrapped in translucent plastic sleeve

  • Translucent Bag of 1,000 sequentially numbered tags, i.e. 20 x sleeves of 50 tags

  • Box of 10,000 sequentially numbered tags, i.e. 10 x bags of 1,000 tags (or adjusted to fit boxes suitable for shipping)

Presentation of findings/Case Evaluation

  • Total customised solution was achieved through quality control of the production and processing phases. 

  • Unique packaging and labelling was implemented to complement the customers existing software system and data file management to achieve a high level of accuracy to support their specifications. 

  • In the event of manufacturing losses, the lost tags must be replaced with identically numbered tags (Bar code and Human Readable Number) to maintain fully sequential ranges in each pack as outlined above
